For careers advisers · regional & rural schools

You're the first person they ask. We've got your back.

When a Year 12 from your school decides on a city uni, the questions land on your desk: where will I live, how will I afford it, will I know anyone? BlowIns answers all three, built by two blow-ins who sat in that same chair not long ago.

  • No ads and no selling student data. It's in our privacy policy in writing.
  • One Student Passport covers housing, scholarships, flatmates and part-time work.
  • Puts the regional money students routinely miss right in front of them: relocation grants, equity scholarships, away-from-home support.
  • Every match comes with a straight answer on why it fits, so students (and parents) can see the reasoning.
The BlowIns team
Why we're talking to you

Rural kids don't have a city network. They have you.

City students have older siblings' leases to take over and parents who can drive to inspections. Your students are making the biggest move of their lives from hundreds of kilometres away, sight unseen. You're the bridge. BlowIns is the toolkit you hand them.

01

The money conversation

Most regional students never hear about the Tertiary Access Payment, away-from-home Youth Allowance, or their uni's regional entry scholarships until the deadlines are gone. BlowIns puts every one of them in front of the student automatically, with eligibility explained line by line, even when they only came looking for a room.

02

The housing conversation

Students set their real budget, commute cap and deal-breakers once. Anything over budget or past the cap is hidden, with the reason shown, so a 17-year-old isn't falling in love with a place they can't afford from 600 km away.

03

The loneliness conversation

The quiet one that brings kids home by Easter. BlowIns matches students with other blow-ins from regional areas, including students from their own region, on lifestyle and vibe, before they even arrive.

"We're two country kids who made the move and reckon the next lot shouldn't have to do it blind."
William Amos · Founder · Northern NSW
Nino Schiltknecht · Founder · Whangaparāoa, NZ

BlowIns is grassroots. A "blow-in" is what locals call someone who's just blown into town, usually a city type landing in the bush. Our students do it in reverse, and we've both been one. The whole organisation exists to back rural students with the support, networks and opportunities they deserve, one Blow In at a time.

Beyond the matching tool, we run relocation workshops, housing briefings and career seminars for regional schools, and we'd genuinely love to bring one to yours. If you've got a hall, a lunchtime, or even a video call slot, we'll turn up.

We're an Australian organisation based in Sydney, NSW, and you'll always deal directly with our team, never a sales department.

How to use it with your students

Three ways in, pick what fits.

01

Hand them the link

Students build their Student Passport at blowins.com in under ten minutes (budget, uni, move date, deal-breakers) and get matched housing, scholarships, people and part-time work, each with the reasoning shown.

02

Run the scholarship check

Sit with a student for five minutes and tick through their matches: first-in-family, regional, equity and course-specific funding, with deadlines tracked and an application checklist for each one they save.

03

Book us for your school

A relocation workshop, a housing briefing for Year 12s, or a parents' evening session. Email blowinsenquiries@gmail.com with rough dates and we'll sort the rest.
